Building Bright Futures Seeking Parent Representatives for State Council and Parent Committee
Building Bright Futures (BBF) is seeking nominations from parents who are interested in serving on the State Council, which addresses issues facing Vermont's families and young children and works towards improving the quality of services through systemic change. Final appointment decisions will be made by the Governor and the deadline for submitting a nomination form is Wednesday, June 11th.
BBF's Parent Committee is also inviting parent interest in it's work to connect families and communities to policymakers, as well as develop ideas for improving the early childhood system. The Parent Committee is partnering with the Kids Are Pirority One Coalition's Parents Rising on several activities this year, including a current effort to gather child care stories, the planning of a fall Statehouse Open House for parents and providers and a parent program at the late fall BBF retreat.
Please forward these opportunities to parents whom might be interested.
Mileage and child care reimbursements are available for attendance at meetings (averaging 6/year for the State Council and 8/year for the Parent Committee.
