of Education's web
site. Note the deadline for public comments.
Public Comment Opportunity: Proposed Rule 2600 (Prekindergarten Education)(Added 1/21/08)
The proposed Prekindergarten Education rules are required by Act 62. Rules will direct the implementation of several provisions of the Prekindergarten Education law. The rules will provide guidance for the following: staff qualifications, program quality requirements, financial and child progress reporting, portability, required contents of contracts between school districts and private early care and education providers, and an appeal process. The proposed rules will affect school districts which are currently offering prekindergarten education through contracts with private care and education providers and/or by operating their own classrooms. These rules also will affect school districts which elect to offer prekindergarten education in the future.
