Warning--Email Fraud
____________ _________

Mary Ann Hertz, Coordinator of the Early Childhood Council of Caledonia County, has informed the Kids Are Priority One staff that someone-NOT Mary Ann-submitted a Letter to the Editor to the Calendonian Record using Mary Ann’s name and email address. Fortunately, it is the newspaper’s policy to verify all letters to the editor, which is how Mary Ann became aware of the fraudulent email.

Mary Ann notified the Attorney General’s office. We suggest that you be on the look-out for any other cases of email fraud as it pertains to early childhood issues. Please notify us and Vermont Attorney General's Consumer Assistance Program at 1-800-649-2424 at once if you suspect any unusual activity regarding your email account. We take this unscrupulous tactic very seriously and are saddened that anyone would stoop to such an ethical low, in the name of children no less.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
