Proposed Caps on School Budgets

                                    ____________ _________ ______

The Senate has passed a bill which puts on the table the Governor's plan to cap education spending. The proposal was an amendment to House bill H. 526 and has gone back to the House and will be the subject of a conference committee.

Caps on school budgets will directly affect pre-school programs, as well as many other services the schools provide (see attached talking points).

Now our legislators need to hear from us.

There will be a public hearing on the issue.

Thursday, April 26th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm in Room 11 of the State House in Montpelier
